Lindsay Cooper, the wellknown english bassoon player (Feminist Improvising Group, ArtBears, Oh Moscow u.a.), is very ill. For more than 10 years now she suffers with Multiple Sclerosis. Now the disease got so strong that she needs help. Medical treatment is too expensive and her financial situation is not easy.
That's why her friends founded the The Bassoonist Club and call for help.
The german organisation Frauen machen Musik e.V. also collects money to support Lindsay.
I ask you to contribute in return for Lindsay's music.

The MIMI-Festival will take place in Arles, southern France, June 22. to June 27. After some years break, I will go there again and I will enjoy the Provence and of course, there will be a report on this event here at Avantart in August.
Shortly after this festival, in a more northern region, Art is an Island will start at Helgoland, the german island in the North Sea. Tadashi Endo and Heinz-Erich Gödecke will present a wholeday - performance August, 1. Tadashi's SoloProgram will take place the same evening. There will be report here at Avantart in August, as well.
Some more new music from Moscow:
Long Arms Records produced two new CDs which I want to introduce here:
Northern Lights: Stillness at the Solovki
is the joint project of Ken Hyder, Vladimir Miller and Vladimir Resitzky, inspired by the wideness of the Russian North, whereas the sampler Orion Cup: The Last Sounds from the Last Cup concentrates the fruits of longlasting friendship, musical meetings, and, most important, organisatorial tenacity and toughness:
Nikolai Dmitriev gathered friends from the West
(Phil BadMinton, Jon Rose, Allophonics u.a.) and friends from the East (Kuryokhin, Anton Batagov, Sainkho u.a.)
to sportive contest. Now, that soccer looses its dominance slowly, we notice the sound of small white balls again: PingPong, Tennis and, most prominent, the phantastic BadMinton!
I know about the difficulties to find these CDs in the shops and to organise a working distribution, but I integrated an Online Order-Form into the LongArms - Pages. We will try to find a way to deliver the CDs as fast as possible. Give us a chance: we will try our best!
I spent some time last month, together with the Jazzbuero-Hamburg-Team, to modernize the Web-Pages of the Hamburg Jazzoffice.
Here you find, in german language, the monthly concert calender, information on the upcoming August-Festival
Jazz in Hamburg, you can listen to the CDs, produced by the Jazzbuero Hamburg, or send an order or read the monthly Jazzpress. There will a blackboard and a discussion area in the next time, as well.
So, have a look!
